With a custom domain, your group's microsites open on a domain you own, such as microsites.example.com, instead of your group's OneMob address. Recipients see your brand in every microsite link you share or send.
Custom domains are available for Enterprise groups. Your OneMob account manager sets it up with you, and you add one DNS record on your side.
Before you start
- The address can be a subdomain, such as microsites.example.com, or a root domain, such as example.com, as long as you own the domain. It cannot be on onemob.com.
- If you use a root domain, it serves only your microsites. Your website and any other pages cannot stay at that address, so use a root domain you keep for microsites only.
- Make sure you can edit DNS records for that domain, or know who can.
- Make sure you can provide a valid TLS certificate for the address. OneMob does not issue or renew certificates for your domain.
Set up your custom domain
- Ask your OneMob account manager to set up a custom domain for your group, and tell them the address you want to use.
- In your DNS provider, create a CNAME record for that address that points to your group's OneMob address, for example yourcompany.onemob.com. Your account manager confirms the exact value. For a root domain, use your provider's CNAME flattening, ALIAS or ANAME record if a plain CNAME is not allowed there.
- Tell your account manager the record is in place.
- Wait for your account manager to confirm your custom domain is active.
- Copy the share link of one of your microsites in OneMob and check that it uses your custom domain.
What changes for your links
- Every new microsite link uses your custom domain: share links you copy in OneMob, links in campaign emails, and tracking links. The rest of the address stays the same, for example https://microsites.example.com/p/….
- Links you sent before keep working on your group's OneMob address and are still tracked. They are not redirected to your custom domain.
- You still sign in and use OneMob at onemob.com. Only microsites are served on your custom domain.
- The custom domain applies to your whole group and serves only your group's microsites.
Turn off your custom domain
Ask your OneMob account manager to turn off your custom domain. Microsite links created afterwards use your group's OneMob address again. Links you already sent on your custom domain stop working once you remove its DNS record, so keep the record in place as long as those links are in use.
